Biography
Päivi Törmä is a leading scientist in quantum coherent dynamics and quantum many-body phenomena in designed nanosystems. Her work combines both experiment and theory. The recent results of her research group include the first observation of Bose-Einstein condensation in a lattice of plasmonic nanoparticles combined with organic dye molecules, as well as lasing in such plasmonic lattices, with dynamics in the sub-picosecond range.
