Peter studied physics at the Technical University of Munich in Germany writing a Diploma thesis at the Walter Schottky Institute. He then went to the Université Paul Sabatier Toulouse where he obtained his PhD in 2016 under the supervision of Prof. Vincent Paillard and Dr. Arnaud Arbouet. After a postdoc at CEMES-CNRS in Toulouse with Dr. Aurélien Cuche and Dr. Christian Girard, he went to join Prof. Otto Muskens’ integrated nano-photonics group at the University of Southampton from 2018 until the beginning of 2020, where he was working on a DFG research fellowship. Since 2020 he is a permanent CNRS researcher (“chargé de recherche”) at LAAS-CNRS in Toulouse, France. His research interests include the interaction of light with subwavelength small structures, and applications of artificial intelligence in nano-optics and photonics.
